About the material

A dark surface does not have to feel severe. Here the tone is richer and warmer than classic anthracite or black slabs.

Acai is the strongest dark tone in the Ki No Bi palette. Colour depth comes from the warmth of wood, not from contrast or gloss, so the surface keeps the calm of the collection even on a smaller area.

It comes through most clearly as one defined zone: a wall behind the bed, a panel, a front or a piece of furniture. With Enoki or Sugi the contrast is readable but not aggressive. Unlike Legno Venezia, where grain and patina carry a story of time, Acai stays a quiet, Japanese reading of dark wood without rustic emphasis.

When a dark tone needs to change the atmosphere of a space without closing it down, Acai is the most direct choice in the collection.
